I have multiple exchange server installed (2) that were installed prior to me.
Is there a way to see which roles are held by the specific servers? One of the servers is running old hardware and would like to consolidate the servers onto just a single server with 2 mailstores.

Yes, simply go through the motions of checking http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822931 and seeing what has what. You don't actually need to change anything but simply look at it.
