I have an exchange 2003 database and the MDBDATA has filed up with E00log files, I know this is logging is data/changews getting written to the Database it is done so that if exchange crashes it can continue writing data to the information store it was writting when it crashed, I think i am right when I say when it has written it all of the data out of the current log file it closes the log file an names it something like E00001A.log and does this with every closed log files.
I have closed log files dating back to 2003, is it safe if I dimount the store and delete all log files except for this current month as the log files are taking up 9.26g, they are 5mb each, I know they assist with data recover and information store recovery if something goes sour but having the last months files should be fine I would imagine, can anyone tell me if this is right  and safe to delete them,
cheers

NO YOU SHOULD NOT DELETE THEM. Perform a full backup and the logfiles will be purged. You should set up a backup schedule and everytime you do a full or incremental backup the logfiles are purged. Thatīs the only safe way to get rid of them.

Right you are thanks
I have already setup an online backup and sure enough the files are gone, shows how well this company used to backup their exchange server :|
