chris meehan -> outlook 2003 searching public folder contacts (30.Sep.2005 9:28:56 AM)

Hello,

I have just created a public folder for shared contacts in exchange server
2003. If I open a new email in outlook 2003, I can search the address book by
selecting the public folder from the drop down menu. What I would like to
know, when I change the address book options so that outlook's address search
order is the public contact folder after the GAL, it does not find any of the
contacts? Is this available with the use of public folders? Or, is the a
manual search by the user to select the public folder address book from the
drop down?

Thank you in advance for any help

you must make sure to

  •  Right click the shared contacts folder
  •  Properties
  •  Outlook Adddress book tab
  •  Tick the box to show it as an outlook address book.

Does that do the trick for you?

I did find that however to make the public folder searchable i had to move the
address to the top of the search order in the address book options.

By any chance would anyone know of any good forums on guides, faqs on using
exchange with blackberry 4.0 server?

Thank you for reply.
