Shyam -> Exchange 2000 server dead - Need Help urgent (6.Oct.2005 11:08:53 AM)

Hi everyone :
My exchange 2000 server is dead.  I bought new server with new hardware.  How can I restore and bring my server back to original state.  This was my first Windows 2000 server and was running AD, DNS, IIS and Exchange 2000.  I have a day before backup using Veritas 9.   On the old server I had partition the drive c and e and I was keeping database on e drive.
I just want suggestion for the following method I am using before I go further and fall back.
   (1) Install Windows 2000 with latest service pack and name the server as it was before and partion my drive as it was before
   (2) Install Veritas 9, import my media and restore System State from the tape
   (3) Reboot the new machine login with old password
   (4) Run Exchange ent. 2000 with disaster recovery switch and make sure instead of none select disaster recovery
   (5) once the exchange ent. 2000 is installed run restore of my e drive
   (6) Restart the server and hopefully all my exchange services will come up.
Anyone can please give me suggestion in above procedure.  Does anyone think this will not work???
Need Help very urgent
Thanks a million to everyone in advance
Shyamal

4. Just install Exchange normally. Really double check the org, site and server names.
4a. Apply same Exchange SP and hotfixes.
5. Don't restore E, restore the store.
6. Yup.

Should be fine then.

Well, mine is dead too... and it was built on a RAID 5 [&o]

The point is that, now, when i perform the system restore, after i reboot the keyboard and mouse doesn't work, so i can't login [:(]

If i try to install a new exchange 2000 server machine, it says that it can't contact the active directory (i have another server where wasn't installed exchange server).

And i don't want to lose the informations i had in Active Directory... what can i do to solve the problem...?
