piglesia -> ERROR: Faulting application store.exe (1.Nov.2005 9:31:59 AM)

I'm running E2K3 Standard (SP2) on a W2K3 server (in the middle of migrating 5.5 users, where both mail servers are in the same domain and Administration Group).

The server's been running fine with the exception of a frequent reboot last week (minidumps pointed to my NIC driver, which has since been upgraded.

Yesterday, my Information Store just shut down on its own. The Event log showed the following error:

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    Microsoft Exchange Server
Event Category:    None
Event ID:    1000
Date:        10/31/2005
Time:        3:00:23 PM
User:        N/A
Computer:    MAIL2
Description:
Faulting application store.exe, version 6.5.7638.2, stamp 434353c1, faulting module x400omv1.dll, version 6.5.7638.1, stamp 430e6fbf, debug? 0, fault address 0x00001a75.

MS site doesn't have an answer and I can't seem to find any specific errors for the faulting application store.exe with a faulting module x400ovm.dll.

When I look at System Manager and my server's protocols, there isn't an entry for x400, so I would assume i'm not even using it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please help!

jchong -> RE: ERROR: Faulting application store.exe (22.Nov.2006 2:51:42 PM)

Anytime you have any application fault, these are very difficult to troubleshoot. An application calls on dlls to perform certain tasks and routines, if it can't execute these calls or actions for whatever reason you get an application fault. They can be caused by hardware, software, third party apps, corrupt dlls, etc. MS would be able to debug something like this using a full dump file. If you don't want to invest in calling,

1. Look to see if you have any hw issues.
2. Disable your third party Exchange related apps see if it stops the crashing
3. Re-service pack your exchange.
