zodiaczz -> IMAP (13.Nov.2005 4:42:36 PM)

Hello, I have a customer that has a Exchange 2000 server running an Outlook 2003 SMTP environment which works fine. The customer is looking to install some thunderbird clients which use IMAP for a couple machines in his company to save money. What is the best way to set up IMAP to access the server. I obviously have the IMAP service running and I am able to receive email to the account with no problem. However my problem is sending emails out. I have played with the relay on the SMTP virtual server since thunderbird only uses IMAP for incoming and still uses the SMTP server to get out. Sometimes I can get send to work and sometimes I cant. When I cant I get this error message sent back The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'FredSmith@domain.com'. Subject '', Account: '192.168.1.8', Server: '192.168.1.8', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for FredSmith@domain.com', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 I am using fredsmith as a dummy example of course. What is the best way to set up IMAP on a Exchange Server and keep it protected and minimize relaying as much as possible. Thanks
