zacswax -> Corrupted mail store (14.Nov.2005 4:01:03 PM)

Hi
Can someone explain please what the correct procedure is for restoring a mail store within exchange 2003, only I have a backup from last night; mail store corrupted this morning.  I am a little unsure on what to do with the transaction logs in the current mail store, do any of these need to be deleted first or do I restore the store and leave them alone.  Can you advise what role the transactions logs have in the process of the recovery.
Thanks

Tick the box for the store properties: 'This database can be overwritten with a restore'

To be safe, copy existing trans logs to another location.

Restore the database and the logs for that storage group from backup.

Transaction Log:

Transasction logs are necessary during the time of Disaster recovery so it is always advisable to keep
Circular logging disable to generate more transaction log files.

You can replay the log files to get your mailboxes back.
