hows it everyone. first time poster here. anyway,....
i have installed exchange 2003 on a server running server 2003. dual xeons w/
2gb mem on an intel board.
the install went smooth. i understand the jargon MS uses as im MCSE. seems as
though its working. ran domain and forest prep. used DCDIAG for error
checking as MS suggests. everything looks good.
i dont have a test bed to try this whole thing out on. per my boss, it was
decided on 2 different forests. trust relastionships are running with no
problems. the next step is to create user accounts and disable them so as to
allow the users in the other domain to access exchange and thier email
accounts. correct me if im wrong about the 2 forest setup, or some
suggestions as to make it easier please.
my current problems are as follows:
1}i need a way to test exchange so i know for sure that when i have the DNS
registrar change the MX record to one of our static IPs, that email will
work. as i stated, i dont have a test bed to work this all out on. its been
very trying from the very beggining of this project {rebuilt the domain from
the ground up}, so far, with no hiccups.
2}can anyone give me some direction as to what exactly i need to do to get
email working exactly? just want to be sure i havent forgotten anything.
anything that will keep me in the right ddirection would be great.
like i said, i ddont have a test bed that i can use in this situation. the
task at hand is to get it right the first time.
thanks again for the help.
AJ
