Does CRCAD computer a/c exist in AD Users and Computers?

Is the DC (MINOR-CONN) listed under Domain Controllers?
If so, then its a problem with CRCAD then.

Ok I just checked in ADUC under computers and low and behold CRCAD does not exist but when I tried to manual add it I got the following message:

Windows can not create the new computer object because the pre-windows 2000 name CRCAD is already in use. Select another name and try again.

I think were on to something and could be close if we could only resolve this.

Both CRCAD and my new controller MAILSERVER exist under the Domain Controllers container but I noticed that MAILSERVER does not exist under the computers container either.

There are different 32 digit GSUID (?) numbers associated with CRCAD from the DNS server under _msdcs its dce7117a-9732-4a6c-ba1f-797e32ae3328 and under the ADSIEdit under the configuration container > Default-First-Site-Name > Servers > CRCAD it shows the 32 digit number to be 71d6c2c9-1c9e-456f-bb0a0fb1c1cb. To me those numbers should match, am I correct?

I am still having problems with the exchange administrator as it still gives me the same error: DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM

I can setup the ADC as it errors and tells me to check connections and when trying to install exchange 2000 it tells me that all the permissions on the deleted objects have not been replicated. (I have performed manual replication)

So DNS resolved but still having same exchange problem - where to next?

I have checked everything and I even move the DNS service off of the Exchange box. The new soon to be Exchange server which is a DC is now the secondary DNS. I have no visible errors in my DNS now but something has to still be wrong as when I try to run the administrator for Exchange 5.5 it still gives me that DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM and if I try to browse for the Exchange server it says "The list of Microsoft Exchange Server computers is not available because no Microsoft Exchange server could be located". Its kind of funny in that this Exchange server has been up and running for them for years but the administrator has never worked since I took over the network. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is just plain weird.
