I know this is probably at bad place to ask Outlook questions. But are there any solutions to the Outlook 2003 email cache limit ?  I know it's 1000.  In 2002 there was a registry edit.  I've used tools like Ingressor, and nk2csv.  But I'm being bombarded with questions regarding this and haven't found a solution yet.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Hopefully it's not a bad place anymore:

Maybe for Outlook 2003 (I did not test yet..):

H_KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\Office\11.0\outlook\

Thank you for the reply.  Well, i tried the regedit once, but didn't really see a difference..
Well i'm not sure if it worked or not, didn't give it much time.
Also what is a good value for the Dword ?  i put 9999, but i wasn't sure if that would work.
Do you know if it can be done at the System Administrator level like in Exchange ?
Thanks again.

The DWORD value should not be over 1000 as this is the maximum size of the NK2 file.

You might be able to use multiple NK2 files. Just be sure Outlook is closed before you try to copy NK2 files, otherwise they may corrupt.

Thanks for the reply.
Now how would i go about using more than one *.nk2 file ?  just drop it in
the directory ?  What would it have to be named ?  So there is no way around the 1000 limit in
Outlook 2k3 ?  know if it will be fixed in Office 12 ?

You could accomplish this in two ways. Firstly, you may create a new outlook profile, with a new name. That will force the nk2 file to be called outlook-profile-name.nk2. (By default the profile is named Outlook, so your nk2 file is named outlook.nk2.) Alternatively you could just copy the nk2 file into that directory, but you must do it when Outlook is closed, or risk corrupting your nk2 files.
