Hi,

What are the message tracking logging differences if an email message to an internal group was sent form the LAN by Outlook or via the Internet by OWA client?

Is there a sure way to find out if a message from a domain user was sent from a LAN workstation/Outlook or by OWA, outside of the LAN, via Internet?

In the message tracking log (by System attendant v. 6.5.762276.0) both the  client IP, client-hostname  is blank  " -  ".
If the Outlook client would make a LAN IP address entry, and OWA would make an external IP entry, it would be easy to see if the message was originated within the LAN (Outlook) or outside the LAN (OWA).

However, the client IP and host name seems to be logged only if an email was sent "externally" (internet mail from other domains, not by OWA).
Neither Outlook, nor OWA leaves IP address footprint in the message tracking logfile.

Thank you.

Nick
