Hi all, first post on this forum. I have been reading up on restoring deleted emails on this tutorial: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF022.html and from what I can read, it means that if I delete an item from the deleted items folder, I should be able to goto tools, recover deleted item and restore it. I have checked, and exchange is set to keep deleted items for 55days. However, when I goto that option, no messages appear. Now am I reading it all incorrectly? or missing something? (Exchange 2003, on a SBS2k3 box) Thanks for your help Tristan

Try this. On your machine, add this into your registry: I added this into a file named: Outlook_Dumster_Always_On.reg: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options] "DumpsterAlwaysOn"=dword:00000001 Reboot your machine. Then in Outlook (the above was for 2003), select the folder you wish to get an item you deleted (that is not in your recycle bin), and go to recover deleted items. This should help you out!
