Please Help.

I am creating a Global Distribution Group and applying it as a owner of a mail enabled Public Folder.  What is happening is the strangest thing, when i log on i do not see the public folder at all which is odd considering this is what is meant to be done.  But what is odder is that when I go into AD and look at this distribution group it has somehow changed itself to a global security group.  Has anyone come across this problem at all.

Thanks.

Distribtion group can't be used as security principle.

so when you use them to give permission it gets converted into security group

but the strange thing is this is not the way it should behave.

It can't get converted by itself

I have watch it do this several times.

However I have discovered that my 2003 Domain that is running in domain native mode was not running in Forest Native mode.  Everytime these errors were happening I was getting a event log saying that this machine is running in mixed mode.  I have now converted to native mode for the forest level and will see what happens now.

Thanks for your reply
