armanddp -> Connectivity Issuesd (4.Apr.2006 9:20:48 AM)

We've recently installed Exchange 12 for a quick evaluation and subsequently uninstalled it from our server. However after the uninstall our server is unable to establish smtp connections out to over smtp servers. There is a different smtp server running on the server now and all incoming connections works perfectly. There is a Windows Firewall running on the machine but we've tried the same excercise with the firewall disabled to no avail. It's as if there's some implicit port filtering happening which blocks connections out on port 25. There's no other firewall on the network the server is on, it's Server 2003 machine with Service Pack 1 installed. Prior to the Exchange 12 installation smtp was working fine :S. When trying a simple telnet from the server out and watching the resulting session in Ethereal we can see the SYN going out but no ACK back from the remote servers. Doing it from the remote server to our server results in a successfull session. There's also no TCP/IP filtering setup on the adapters. And literally all other ports work. I hope there's some registry setting or some configuration left over from the Exchange install that disabled this but we're seriously stumped and I hope someone can shed some light on this for us.
