We are a medium organization that is divided into multiple teams. Every team member has their own exchange mailbox and they are members of the team security groups. Each team security group has an e-mail address so that mail sent to the team address is automatically distributed to the users. In addition, I have a public folder that is mail enabled and has been added to the team group.

The problems that I am having are as follows:
   1) mail from external users will not deliver to the public folder
   2) I need to enable users to send mail to external users as if they are from the team e-mail
   3) It would be nice to be able to track responses sent to external users without having to              cc the team email in every message

What have you done so far, for trouble shooting the problem?
turn on smtp log in, and take a look at smtp logs

You need to give snd as permissions to proper groups, if you want them to send e-mails as if coming from this mail enabled public folder.

Thank you for your quick response. I have been able to get mail to deliver by re-creating the folders and re-assigning them to the groups, but now the emails are showing up as posts and not email messages. I can live with that though.

When you say send permissions, where are you talking about setting that permission?
