The settings sounds okay, yes. In ESM, can you see the folders listed under Public Folders in the tree in the left-hand pane? If so, select one, and click the Content tab over on the right. Does it show anything there?

Under the Public Folder Store there are 5 folders iincluding Public folder Instances and Public Folders in the left pane-no other folders under Public Folder Store. When I click on either there is a list of everything in the public folders in the right pane. If I right click on anything in the right pane and click on properties, I am presented with a logon that defaults to administrator. When I enter the password and OK I get a c1030af3 (stating that the Public Folder store may not be mounted but it is) error and I can go no further. Under First Administrative Group\Folders\Public there is nothing else in the left pane and nothing in the right pane. TIA. Sue Van

That c1030af3 error is obviously not right - it may be relevant, and we'll have to go away and find out what it means: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/insider/publicfolders.mspx#Errorc1030af3 These folders should also be listed under First Administrative Group\<server>\Folders\Public Folders . Try right-clicking the Public Folders item here, and selecting Connect to.. Does it show any stores? You can then cancel that dialog.

There is absolutely nothing besides Folders\Public Folders. No other folders in the left pane under Public Folders and nothing in the right pane. Connect to has the correct (and only) public folder store. I have looked at that information about the error. It says to ensure that permissions are correct but what are they supposed to be to begin with. There are no error message in Event Viewer related to DS2MB. I have no idea where to find msExchDS2MBOptions. I already had lowered my browser. And there are plenty of Denys under Advanced but they are consistant with those on the Mailbox store and we can see that with OWA. TIA. Sue

msExchDS2MBOptions is an AD property that you can only see with a utility like ADSI Edit. Do you have that installed?

I don't think so. Should that be on the SP2 disk? I have a book (MCSE guide to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Administration) that seems to suggest creating public folders under Folders\Public Folders. I don't understand why it is blank and the2 Public folders under the public store have all of the folders. Thanks sue

The Folders/Public Folders part of ESM uses WebDAV (an HTTP protocol) to get the folder information, so it's possible that the 503 in OWA, and the lack of PFs in the tree view, are related. It's possible that the c1030af3 is the cause of both. Of course, it maybe something else. ADSI Edit should be on the Server OS (not Exchange) disk (in a folder named Support Tools, I think).

I got it. OWA on Public Folders finally works. All I did was dismount the Public Store and then remount the Public store and then restart IIS Admin. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help and patience. I will miss conversing with you, although from what I see in this forum, given the problems inherent with Exchange, I probably won't miss our conversations for very long. We almost turned it into an IM. I was looking at each individual 'tree' so hard I forgot that they were part of a 'forest'. Thank you so much again. Besides Exchange my job is computer helpdesk. If you ever have a question about Word or Excel please do not hesitate to contact me. Sue Van

I'm glad it works. I suppose it must have been a bit confused, and the re-mount woke it up again. Or something. It's the kind of thing you only find out by trying. I'm sure we'll speak again. Bye for now.
