Hello all, looking for a little help here. I have read on this board before that in order to upgrade from Exchange Standard to Exchange Enterprise edition all you have to do is insert the Enterprise CD and reinstall. If this is true will it carry over the settings and mailboxes that already exist in my current environment? Will the outside web interface settings also hold true??I heard it does not and it like a fresh installation??.. Also it has been mentioned to me that I should remove the exchange server from the firewall and disconnect it from the network and outside world because mail may still be coming through?? Can someone please help with these so called urban legens on Exchange.

The part about the CD is right. You should make sure you have taken and tested a backup of the entire system before and immediately afterwards.
You don't need to disconnect the server from the outside world. All the mail will be stored in the queues up until the system stops the SMTP service for you.
