Hi guys

Despite being a small business we often run into problems with the mailbox store being over the 20GB limit on our SBS 2003 system.

We use public folders extensively but I was wondering if there's a way to run a script to go through all users mailboxes and delete everything older than 365 days?

It would be good to be able to do the same on the public folder store as well.

Any ideas?

I'd like to avoid having to search through each user's mailbox manually.

Thanks

Ben

For mailboxes, you can use the Mailbox Manager.  Here's a tutorial (applies to Exchange 2003 as well as Exchange 2000):

For public folders, each replica can be configured with an age limit - the system will automatically purge items older than X number of days for you.

Hi

Just run a test policy (it took a while) and told it to generate a report.

Just wondering where it would have generated the report?

Thanks

Ben

In Exchange System Manager, bring up the properties of the Exchange server and go to the Mailbox Management tab.

That's excellent!

Thanks for all your help.
I think we're sorted now.
