Exchange 2000 security patch KB912442 problem
Installed security patch KB912442. Although this patch did not require a reeboot the other patches did
Stores failed to mount after reboot..(see error below)
Uninstalled patch, System immediately came back up without rebooting again.

The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance.
The MAPI provider failed.
