Someone from outside our company is try to email someone from inside our company. Yet they get this message every so often,
"You do not have permission to send this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
<xxxxx.xxxxx.xx.theircompany.com #5.7.1 smtp;501 5.7.1 This system is not configured to relay mail from someone@theircompany to someone@ourcompany for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx>"

Is this a problem with my server?

Hi,

Its rather difficult to tell with the information that you have supplied.

You will need to look at the NDR that they receive to say if it is or isn't.

Could it be that their mail server is sending the email to an incorrect server/smarthost that is not relaying it ?

Is the NDR that they receive referring to the IP address of your Exchange server ?

From the looks from NDR the IP given at the end is their IP address and not mine. I hope this helps.

Hi,

If your IP address is not referenced, then I would say that it is either their mail server/smarthost that has the issue.
