bring_back_buck1@hot -> Exchange 2000 in a Windows 2003 AD (31.Jul.2006 10:50:18 AM)

Hi there

I have recently inherited a new network.  It is configured with three 2003 ADC's and one 2000 ADC in four global sites.  We are using exchange 2000.  Now the problem is when you open ADUC from one of the 2003 ADC's and select properties on one of the users.  There is no exchange attributes for that object, where there is on the one 2000 ADC.

I was not at the company when the 2003 ADC's were installed and anyone involved has long since gone.  I would suggest that some serious omissions were made during the install process.  I have read several articles but I am a bit weary about any changes until I am absolutely certain.  Any suggestions as to what needs to be done would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
B

you would only see exchange attributes when Exchange system manager is installed.

does the 2000 server has exchange system manager?

Lancy is right. You will only see the Exchange tabs of your user accounts if that domain controller has the Exchange management tools installed on it. Find your Exchange cd. You should be able to do a custom install and choose only the management tools. Install the tools on all your domain controllers so you don't have to remember which ones have it and which ones don't. After you install the management tool, also install the same Exchange service pack that you've got on your Exchange server.
