Hi!

I've just installed Exchange 2007 in an existing Exchange 2003 organisation (single Exchange 2003 server).

When I use OWA to access to mailboxes on Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 from the internal network, the redirection is automatic :)

But this redirection do not function when using OWA from the internet...

So do I need to use two external IP addresses?
  • One for OWA 2003 (for mailboxes on Exch. 2003)
  • One for OWA 2007 (for mailboxes on Exch. 2007)

Any idea?

Only redirection from an Exchange 2007 Client Access Server (the CAs replaces the Exchange 2003 Front-end server) to an Exchange 2003 Mailbox Server will work (as the legacy virtual directories still exist in Exchange 2007).

Otherwise you would need to publish the servers using their own IP, domain or port.

Does anyone have addtional info on setting up SSL for OWA.  I have followed the instructions that exchange 2007 provides, it is pretty basic with setting up the CA and a certificate and then enable ssl through iis, but I still can't get it to work.  I am doing on a localhost so I am not running into firewall issues. If I try to connect via http and not https after I enable SSL I do get a message that this is a SSL site and you need to use ssl to connect but once I change to https://exchangeserver/domain/owa I get page connot be displayed.

Also, I was wondering how secure is exchange OWA without using SSL?

Thanks
David

Ok, thanks for your help Henrik

There is no front-end server in my infrastructure... so I will publish the server on another IP address.
