 hi all. currently we are looking to upgrade of active directory domain to windows 2003 while keeping our exchange server at windows 2000 and exchange 2000 (on its own box) however i came across this article and i am not to sure what to do .

basiclly do i need to run the inetorgperson kit (as stated) prior to the upgrade of the domain controllers or do i need to do this at all. any feedback is most welcome.

Yes, I recommend that you do the AD fix as suggested due to the differences in AD attributes that can be become corrupted if you upgrade to 2003.
