trevorc -> Corrupt Information Store Backup (28.Aug.2006 10:11:07 AM)
|
I have an Exchange 2000 running on Windows 2000 Server. This server is a dc, gc, dns, etc. and the exchange database is about 11Gb big. About 1 month ago, i had a problem with one of my drives. Altough they were set in RAID-5, i changed the faulty drive, but there still seemed to have been some type of corruption. I backup the information store using the common Windows Backup tool but when i do the verify, in the event log it says that the backup file is corrupt and that the file may not be restored. So now i cannot backup my information store (which i am not comfortable with). I have been suggested to install Exchange on another server, move the mailboxes onto the new server, do a database check on the 'corrupted' server and if everything is good, move the mailboxes back. Is this a feasable idea? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks.
