acidifix -> sending mail from internet via an Edge box (29.Aug.2006 5:31:07 PM)

Hi!

I have an Exchange Server 2007 typical installation sending mail to the internet via my Edge box.

Everything is ok except when I'm trying to send mail from internet (connected to the Edge) using internal address as sender.

I get this error :

550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender
I can successfully do that when I'm connected to the Edge from the internal network.

Let's see the answers when trying to telnet my edge box from internet.

If I telnet my edge box using an internal address as sender :

telnet mail.domain.com 25
mail from:toto@mySMTPdomain.com     (mySMTPdomain.com is a domain managed by my Exchange organisation)
550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender
If I telnet my edge box using an external address as sender :

telnet mail.domain.com 25
mail from:bill@microsoft.com
250 2.1.0 bill@microsoft.com Sender OK      (this example to show you that I can receive mails from other organisations)
I want to permit some users to send emails from their Outlook client from internet location (ex: home) using pop3/smtp account configuration.

Any idea ?

thanks ;)

Hi,

What version of edgeBOX do you have?

Have you tried the Relay List?

Regards,

Alex
