Let me know when you have exhausted this list. PF stuff in a pure e2k7 environment is going to be PS command line only... this nasty looking stuff is a direct cut 'n' paste from the 19 Aug CHM. Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, you manage public folders by using the Exchange Management Shell. (You can also perform a limited number of public folder database management tasks in the Exchange Management Console.) To learn more about public folders in Exchange 2007, see [link=e089c7f5-dcba-4707-8970-84d78923797e.htm]Understanding Public Folders[/link]. [image]collapse.gif[/image]Using Cmdlets to Manage Public Folders Cmdlets are verb-noun combinations (for example, Get-PublicFolder) that you use to construct commands in the Exchange Server Management Shell. You can use the cmdlets listed in this topic to perform any public folder management task. For more information about cmdlets and using the Exchange Server Management Shell, see [link=925ad66f-2f05-4269-9923-c353d9c19312.htm]Using the Exchange Management Shell[/link]. PublicFolder Cmdlets Although there are many public folder management tasks, the five in this section are fundamental and among the ones most frequently performed. Use these cmdlets to create, delete, configure, update, and get information about public folders. Important Although you use the [link=409711bc-6249-41d4-bf86-50e01240e69f.htm]Get-PublicFolder[/link] and [link=657a8e15-2587-41b5-986c-2289b2772c89.htm]Set-PublicFolder[/link] cmdlets to get and set non-mail-related public folder information, you cannot use these cmdlets to get or set mail-related information. If you want to get or set mail-related information about public folders, use the [link=da05e6cb-8ab1-4ba9-ae42-d0f631daec85.htm]Get-MailPublicFolder[/link] and [link=8db48034-24cd-43d8-9133-1c8226616be5.htm]Set-MailPublicFolder[/link] cmdlets. MailPublicFolder Cmdlets A mail-enabled public folder is a public folder that has an e-mail address. Mail-enabling a public folder provides an extra level of functionality to users. In addition to being able to post messages to the folder, users can send e-mail messages to, and sometimes receive e-mail messages from, the public folder. Each mail-enabled folder has an object in the Active Directory directory service that stores its e-mail address, address book name, and other mail-related attributes. When managing mail-enabled public folders, there are four general tasks that you can perform: enabling, disabling, configuring, and getting information about mail-enabled public folders. Important Although you use the Get-MailPublicFolder and Set-MailPublicFolder cmdlets to get and set mail-related public folder information, you cannot use these cmdlets to get or set non-mail-related information. If you want to get or set non-mail-related information about public folders, use the Get-PublicFolder and Set-PublicFolder cmdlets. PublicFolderDatabase Cmdlets When managing public folder databases, there are four general tasks you can perform: creating, configuring, removing, and getting information about public folder databases. [link=88e7257d-d219-44e6-a23e-ba78c84545ac.htm]New-PublicFolderDatabase[/link] [link=34ec3385-778a-43b8-9bf2-707fbf60ac23.htm]Set-PublicFolderDatabase[/link] [link=11289582-170b-445e-94a4-8f73df6ccb13.htm]Remove-PublicFolderDatabase[/link] [link=7008b70b-607c-4802-871c-e0cb09f4673e.htm]Get-PublicFolderDatabase[/link] Note The Get-LogonStatistics and Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlets can also provide information about public folder databases. For information about the Get-LogonStatistics cmdlet, see [link=c06f202e-2302-4122-a514-9d11b6ad2c47.htm]Get-LogonStatistics[/link]. For information about the Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlet, [link=6b435b2e-749f-47fd-9a20-9a7edaed96fb.htm]Get-PublicFolderStatistics[/link]. [image]note.gif[/image]Note: You can perform some public folder database management tasks in the Exchange Server Management Console. These database management tasks are the only public folder tasks that can be performed in the Exchange Server Management Console. All other public folder management tasks are performed in the Exchange Server Management Shell. PublicFolderPermission Cmdlets Use these cmdlets to add, remove, and get information about public folder permissions. [link=374c6dfb-c61c-4049-a288-f1e668b66644.htm]Add-PublicFolderPermission[/link] [link=b5dfee9b-40d4-471a-9a34-5b38b1d58da3.htm]Remove-PublicFolderPermission[/link] [link=f8d00a3c-4791-4292-b802-39ad6753ade2.htm]Get-PublicFolderPermission[/link] PublicFolderReplication Cmdlets Use these cmdlets Exchange Management Shell PublicFolderReplication cmdlets (Suspend- and Resume-PublicFolderReplication) to manage public folder replication in an Exchange organization. [link=6b435b2e-749f-47fd-9a20-9a7edaed96fb.htm]Get-PublicFolderStatistics[/link] [link=212ca564-435e-4af6-8673-5564732bf118.htm]Get-MailboxFolderStatistics[/link] Note The [link=c06f202e-2302-4122-a514-9d11b6ad2c47.htm]Get-LogonStatistics[/link] cmdlet can also provide statistical information about public folder databases. [image]collapse.gif[/image]Using Scripts to Manage Public Folders The commands that you use to manage public folders in the Exchange Management Shell can be combined into a script. You can use scripts that are installed with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (as well as other scripts), or you can write your own scripts. Running scripts in the Exchange Management Shell can make public folder administration faster and easier by automating complex or frequently performed tasks. To learn more about using scripts for public folder administration, see [link=4f5fde4c-6dc8-469a-beb1-2356cbbe6daf.htm]Scripts for Managing Public Folders in the Exchange Management Shell[/link]. quote:
ORIGINAL: lesterw2 I have a two Exchange 2007 Beta 2 server configuration. I want to eliminate the first server. I have set the Address Book default to the new public folder database I created on the new mail server but I don't know how to move the hidden public folders to the new database. There is no Move-PublicFolder command. The Get-PublicFolderStatistics command is the only way I can find to enumerate the list of public folders: Name ItemCount LastAccessTime ---- --------- -------------- Default 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM EX:/o=ActionMedia/ou=Exchange Administra 2 9/9/2006 1:00:00 AM tive Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) EX:/o=ActionMedia/ou=Exchange Administra 0 9/9/2006 1:00:00 AM tive Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) exchangeV1 401 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM globalevents 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM internal 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM microsoft 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM OAB Version 2 0 9/9/2006 5:03:04 AM OAB Version 3a 12 9/9/2006 5:03:04 AM OAB Version 4 4 9/9/2006 5:03:04 AM OWAScratchPad{74129DD3-B49C-4A2D-A361-89 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM D547E9D3E5} schema-root 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM StoreEvents{74129DD3-B49C-4A2D-A361-89D5 0 9/9/2006 12:53:16 PM 47E9D3E5} /o=ActionMedia/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=D 0 9/9/2006 1:00:00 AM efault Offline Address Book I need to get the OAB etc. shifted to the new public folder database.
