I am just testing Exchange 2007 x86 beta version, I have noticed that Exchange tasks has gone in AD Users and computers. You can create mailboxes using Exchange Manager but I much prefer the Exchange Tasks method. Any chance of this feature being restored?

With Exchange Server 2007 Recipient Management tasks has been integrated back into the Exchange System Manager (now called Exchange Management Console or simply EMC), and the ADUC extensions has been discontinued

And nope MS have no ideas about changing their minds about this decision, at least not when speaking E2K7 RTM.

Could you still use Exch 2003 tools to administer users and groups in a 2007 environment?

No this will not be supported because of the way some attributes etc. are handled in E2K7 EMC versus E2K3 System Manager.

With Exchange 2003, I could select multiple non-mail enabled users and create mailboxes for the lot of them using exchange tasks.  Now that the Exchange features in AD have been removed, how do I do this sort of thing in the EMC?

You would need to use the Exchange Management Shell (EMS) in order to mail-enable multiple AD user objects.

An example on how this can be accomplished can be found here:
