ztechguy -> RE: exchange AV software (23.Oct.2006 3:55:36 PM)

To be more specific to my situation here is what I have. I inherited an exchange server 2003 installation. I have two filters in front of the exchange. One is mailfoundry, the other is a metavize filter. So basically the mail goes through mailfoundry, then metavize, then gets delivered on exchange. So spam and antivirus is already taken care of. But, I don't have any program that is physically protecting the exchange database itself. I have symantec v. 10 on the server, but it is excluding the exchange database of course. With those two devices acting as a gateway security is it necessary for another measure of antivirus security? The only thing I can think of is that I believe the GFI mailsecurity continually scans the exchange, and could offer more protection on the database itself. So if a peice of mail got through, and it resided there in exchange it would get cleaned up eventually. So in some peoples opinions should I go with something like GFI's mailsecurity on the box itself, or am I being parenoid about security.
