This has been going on for about a year now. Whenever our exchange 2003 server is rebooted, when the client connects after the reboot emails start appearing from last week....last month....etc. These are emails that we should have gotten, but did not get delivered until the reboot. I looked in the queues and there is nothing sitting there. Would anyone know why these emails are not getting delivered or how i can check? Also does anyone know why they get delivered after a reboot? Thanks, Tim

Sounds like the messages are getting stuck somewhere. A reboot can often unclog the pipes. Are the messages all from the outside? Check Message Tracking to see what it tells you. Run the Best Practices Analyzer.

Sometimes messages get stuck in your temp table which are temporarily places within the store (smtp mailbox) where messages are constructed. Check to see if you have issues with any AV/Disclaimers, or any other third party apps. Have You Checked Your SMTP Mailbox Temporary Tables Lately? http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/50422/50422.html
