I just installed Exchange 2007.  Inside first storage group, I see two files with extension ".jrs".  Can someone throw some light on the ".jrs" files.

Also, I see a folder named "catalog<with some hexa-decimal>" under first storage group folder.  What is the purpose of this folder?

Where I can get more information on the same?

The jrs. files are reserve transaction log files and therefore act as placeholders. They are only used when the hard disk drive that contains the transaction log runs out of space to stop the queue database cleanly.

The catalog folder is created when you enabled Local Continuos Replication (LCR).
