Hi all,
I have an exchange server that is looking after domain abc.com. I have AD setup as xzy.com. I have added abc.com to my default policy so that it is the default mail address.

The trouble is I don't want exchange to deliver an email for bob@abc.com to the mailbox for bob@xyz.com. Is there a way to tell exchange to forward these messages to the external email server.

I have tried selected the box that says exchange doesn't handle delivery for this address but that doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

Jacob

So you have @abc.com in your Default Recipient Policy with 'This Exchange Organisation is...' unchecked (i.e. it ain't responsible)? That would be good.

Of course if you haven't created any other recipient policies to handle dishing out email addresses 'bob' might well have ended up with 'bob@abc.com'. You'll have to manually delete this email address if he has it.

Does the MX records point abc.com to your Exchange server? If so Exchange can't re-route the mail. Create an SMTP connector for abc.com and configure your other abc.com email server as a smart-host for this connector.

That should do it.
