yaminiw -> Defrag of Exchange Cluster (30.Jan.2007 12:49:21 AM)

Hi,

I have a three node exchange cluster A/A/P and need to Defrag that exchange cluster. Can any one help me understand the procedure that needs to be followed for the same.

I have already finished the defrag of almost 8 exchange servers in my organization and now have to head for the cluster.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
just dismout the db and lauch eseutil. At the end you can mout it.
Remember that if the EVS make a  failover the operation abort.
Take attention to resources of the nodes, if the db is too large the operation can fails, so you can stop the spam appl. I'd this problem with a 160GB db :D

I think holdmont is not correct. You cannt do so.. It may corrupt the database.
The best way is to take the virtual server offline and then defrag the database. or stop the cluster service and then defrag the databases.

hi
we have 5ml of mailbox with 3 cluster (6EVS x 3cluster=18EVS, 20dbx 1EVS= 360DB) and i dismount only one db for EVS and defrag it. I never had problem with this procedure.
