mpapier -> Migrating Public Folders (31.Jan.2007 8:51:48 AM)
Can anyone tell me how to migrate public folders from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I cannot get mine to replicate or migrate. Please help...

You add the E2K7 to the replica list of each Public folder using the Exchange System Manager, and then have patience [8D]

Hi,
How long it take that we have to wait for replica when doing same as what you said ? After adding Ex-2k7 Server name to replica list from EMS (Ex-2k3) then I have restarted both of Ex-2k3 and Ex2k7 but nothing happened
Could you please tell me more details
Thanks

Rebooting the servers will not help with the replication.

Hi,
Thank a lot for your information. Refer to that information, I have checked the route between servers. The problem is messages flow has been blocked from Ex-2k3 to Ex-2k7 by an AntiVirus Software installed on Ex-2k3 (unknown reason ! [:o]). After removing AVS, everything 's OK.
I would like to share my problem with all of you
Thanks

Should we also add E2K7 to the replica list of each System Folder?
Thanks. Nitin.

When deploying E2K7 into a legacy Exchange environment, that should happen automatically.

Hi guys
I have done my public folder replicas to exchange 2007 from exchange 2003, what is the next step to decommission the exchange 2003 public folder servers. Do I first do the OAB generation process to the new exchange 2007 server and then what steps do I take to decommission the exchange 2003 public folder servers.
thanks Jasonbvh

Run the following command on the Exchange 2007 server: MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server source server -NewServer target server. After that delete the public folder database on the old server. Here´s a detailed description: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx

thanks do you have to replicate w2k3 system folders as well, like free busy, OWA scratchpad, eventsroot, storeevents and System config???
thanks Jasonbvh

If you run the MovaAllReplicas-script it will move all the relevant system folders as well.

OK once done wit the replicas do I remove the w2k3 public folders exchange servers as replicas? hwo do I check and make sure w2k7 exchange has acopy of all the public folders as replicas

Hi Guys I need an answer re: do I remove replicas first, as even if I had to delete the public folder stores, do I remove the replicas first so its a more cleaner process and then check that the public folder are still accessible and then delete the public folders data stores etc.
