I have used Backup Exec to restore files but did not commit them, because it will fail and their fix was to do it manually. So after the data is restored I go onto the Exchange box and run:  eseutil /CC D:\Exchsvr\MDBDATA

It runs through and at the bottom I get this error:
"Operation terminated with error -939523486 (Existing log file has bad signature.)"

Is there a way to fix this so that I can mount the stores again?

This is my third backup of our running exchange server, and I am restoring to an offsite server. Also in Veritas it said that the file was corrupt before the backup. All I chose to backup was the First Storage Group, so does that mean my production server is in trouble but showing now signs yet?

Please help if you can, Thank You.

Check the consistency of the databases
C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN>eseutil /mh "C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.edb"

C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN>eseutil /mh "C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\pub1.edb"

if it consistent run the bellow command to repare the log file

C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA>"C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN\eseutil" /r E00

if the inconsistent
run:

C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA>"C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN\eseutil" /p priv1.edb
C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA>"C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN\eseutil" /p pub1.edb To bring the DBs files back into a consistent state. then run
C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN>isinteg -s (servername) -fix -test allteststhen mount the dbs

Both states are dirty shutdowns.

Run the eseutil /p

Says its complete but database stays in a dirty shutdown state.

Where would I go from there?

Thank you for the help.
