No I didnt, also all of a sudden nothing works now.
No ndrs's or mails going out or in? Not even bad events.
Hope my details to my problem hasent given somone enough to play with me. :-(
Its just strange I was so close to getting this figured out and now this.

So upon further investigation all of my mails "Including the tests dean sent @ 1:29 and 1:30" are sitting in a que "Messages awating diorectory lookup." .
They are just stuck there going di di dieeeeee.

HE, he... my wife and I use that term all the time.

Well anyway the only thing that has changed is a server that was to be the OWA front end has died about 30min ago. "Damn intern didnt know it wasnt an auto switching PS and needed to flip the switch."

So it is now offline.
All I did to it was load exchange, and promote it to a backup DC.
It still shows up in the system manager MMC. I cannot get rid of it so far.
"Googling removing dead exh2003 server".
I had not done any config to it, just loaded exch2003 and promoted it to be another DC. "Probably not a good idea now I think about it".

OH SNAP!!!!!!!!!
My mails just got deliverd! All that were in the que!
My exch server must have been in a di di dieeeeee "My new technical term" state for a bit replicating/commiting the changes. Um yah, sure, as long as it works.
Man what a day.
Dean I owe yah a really big E-BEER for all your help so far.
Be sure to convert it to the proper format when you get home.

So accidentally killing the FE server allowed mail to flow? Does your inbound mail come to the FE? When you get that operational again check to see if the inbound messages are sticking in the queue destined to the BE. Also, test with Telnet from FE to BE.
