Now for an update: Demoted Windows/Exch2000 Server and changed DNS server IP addresses and walla!!! Exchange 2007 Installed without a hitch and I was able to begin moving mailboxes. Mail only worked on the Exchange 2000 server. So only those unmigrated users could send and receive E-mail to each other and the web. However, the 2007 users could send/receive to only each other and not the Internet. Migrated all users and attempted to setup the Hub Transport to the net and it just would not work. Called Microsoft, stayed on hold for 5 hours, as of 1:30am, all is well....except my own Outlook will not connect to the server, but the others I tested worked, so I left and went to sleep. The Microsoft tech was filled with knowledge, but so slow in everything he did. I mean turtle slow. 18 hours at work dealing with a slow tech is nerve racking. But he did solve my problem and I learned alot. Last thing I had to do was replicate my Exchange 2000 Public Folders. Forgot the HTTP service controls this and I had it disabled. So at about 1:30am I started HTTP and was able to to create replicas for the Public Folders. Holy cow, the GUI is basically useless. Powershell is where it is at. I figured I would jump, click some buttons and have Exchange rolling...nope. The GUI basically simplifies basic, commonly used tasks. Things such as my Exchange 2000 routing group connector failed and had to be rebuilt in the shell as well as other things. What really pi$$ed me off was I can see teh routing group connector in the GUI so I thought all was well. I wasn't until I entered the PowerShell and ran the command Get-RoutingGroupConnector that it told me the connector was corrupt. Why should I have to go to a DOS like interface for this. It shoul dhave been right there in the GUI when I was viewing the connector. This was why I called MS and for some other problems. After my nerves calm down, I may help some IT Admins near me with this migration at their office. As of for now, forget it. Now to buy books on the PowerShell and take some cram courses!!!! I do not feel confident about my ability to properly manage Exchange 2007. Just glad it is working. Now for my Blackberry server upgrade!!!!
