WVR -> E2003 cant send to E2007 (9.Mar.2007 4:41:52 PM)

Hello all,
E2003 can't send to E2007.
In E2003 I see the following: "Exchange System Manager failed to retrieve queues for the SMTP Virtual Server (error code = 0x800706D9). Check the event log and verify that the required services are running." The SMTP Virtual Server gives a "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress".
Tools -> Monitoring and Status -> Status shows the E2007 server as 'Unreachable'.
This happens after a complete re-install of my E2007 server.
Any help is appreciated.
