Setup is a test lab but with a fully confgured w3k domain.
1 DC W3K
1 Member W3K server
BOTH HAVE SP2 INSTALLED
The member server has EXCHANGE 2007
3 Client pcs with xp sp2 and all have OUTLOOK 2007

I can send to this test domain no problems externally and internally using any of the internal client mailboxes on any of the internal client PCs,
I simply cannot send externally the mail sits in the queue,
Ive got the send connector setup with "*"
Ive tried it as "mydomain.com"
Ive tried using the custom option as well with "*" and also "mydomain.com"

This worked sweet as a nut last week with Exchange 2003, but for some odd reason I cant send using exchange 2007.
This domain has being totally rebuilt so no remnents of before, it all works perfectly apart from not being able to send externally.

And your ISP doesn't require outbound mail is routed through a smart host at their end?

Can you telnet to port 25 on external SMTP servers from the Exchange 2007 server?

Thanks Henrik
I had already sent an email to my new ISP asking if they require me to use them as a smarthost as I had recently changed ISPs and the old ISP never required you to use them as a smarthost, TELNET was already active, I asked the question on here just incase it was something else which I was unaware of.
Ive since today managed to guess the new ISPs smarthost as Im still waiting for them to come back to me, But it was the smarthost as its certainly working now, Im just waiting to find out whenever they come back to me if Im actually using the correct smarthost they prefer me to use, either way that was the issue.

FOR ANYONE READING THIS
DO YOURSELVES A BIG FAVOUR
BUY HENRIKS BOOK.
I have his book
"Securing Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook Web Access"

Great easy read, no messing about it gets straight down to the nitty gritty, I will be buying his equivilant 2007 version.

Thanks again

Roy
