We are currently a Domino R5 shop and looking to migrate directly to Exchange 2007.  Domino doesn't require the servers to be in a WCS environment.  Domino has built-in clustering technology that has been fantastic and we are looking to do the same in EX2007 but will require WCS to be set up.  We have already purchased our 3rd party migrating tool (Quest) and have a San set up in our datacenter and backup datacenter.  I've been reading about setting up CCR for EX2007 and it appears as though we will need to "stretch" the site for WCS to work correctly.  Without having to wait for Longhorn and the ability to not have your 2 nodes within the same ip subnet, how would one "stretch" the AD site so that the 2 nodes that are in different datacenters exist on the same ip subnet?  Any information is greatly appreciated.

Damn it Jim, I'm a Notes Admin, not a Network Engineer.  ;)  I'm only assuming this has to be done at the switch side, thus my network engineers will be able to do this?  What level switch must it be to be able to do this?  Thank you for your quick response.  Much appreciated.

Blacktoe let us know how the thrid party tool goes (Quest) we are in the same situation, moving from Domino to Exch 2007 and I've heard nothing but bad things about the Transporter Tool................cheers

The MS Notes Transporter Suite is an excellent free tool, you just need to be aware that it doesn't give you the same options as 3rd party tools from Quest and Binary Trees does (but hey that's why it's free you know!).

What I especially like about MS Notes Transporter Suite, is that is's based on Windows PowerShell.

Yes. Your network engineer will be able to get this done.This would be at the router/switch depending on how you have configured. (Wireboys know it better [;)]).
 
In line with the other query on the transporter on 2007, it is much more stable than the earlier version available on Exchange 2003. [nightmare [:o]]. Third party tools like quest, transcend,binary tree are good but come at a cost.
 
You also need to migrate your client side Nsf files to pst.[:-]

Cheers Henrik, I've looked at Quest but not at Binary Tree, yet......

yea Transporter Tool is great for free but as you know it is not enough to do the migration, the way Microsoft have spoken to us they said it is all we need..........

I don't think so................

Err having said that and going by the chart why go with Quest...........The Transporter tool does exactly the same features!!!!
