JasonMonty -> Mail box store and public Folders store move to new domain (22.Apr.2007 7:51:10 AM)

Hi I hope someone can shed some light on the situation I face.
I have inherited a real pile of #$%^. [:@]

Currently I have a Win2k STD Server Running Exchange 2000 SP3.
Have 185 Mailbox's and Approx 750 Public Folders.
Current Domain has no suffix on the end. It’s ABC instead of ABC.Local etc.

Have also a new domain with 2003 Enterprise Server built Running Exchange 2003 Enterprise. Domain name is ABC.Local.

Need to migrate Users Mailboxes and Public folders to a new 2003 exchange server in a new domain.
I can migrate users with ADMT 3.0 have tested and I can copy users to new domain.
I was thinking of dropping the existing stores into the Ex2003 box.. is this possible to do with dissimilar Domain Name, Server Name, and Exchange Information store Name?

Or would I have to rebuild the 2003 server with same server name as 2000 server and replicate exchange information store details?

Hopefully someone has done this before and has some sort of step by step for it.

Anything helpfull is greatly appreciated have 48hr deadline..

Cheers

Jason

You could use EXMERGE to export all of the mail from the old server and then use it to import all of the mail into the new server (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174197) and you could drop your Public Folders into a PST (from Outlook) and then copy them back over - or look to use PFMigrate.

Cheers
