saadzaman -> External Email sending problem (1.May2007 4:02:58 PM)

All,

I have three PCs in my Private LAN-these are DC, Exchage Server 2003 and XP Pro. I am using Cable Modem for internet connection, and I have a LinkSys Router. I register my domain with goDady.com. I use LinkSys for Exchange Port Forwarding (SMTP 25).

Registered Domain and MX Record is configured in GoDady's site properly.

However, I can receive email from outside (yahoo, gmail, etc), but cannot send any email from my Network to outside world.

Current Setup:

Domain Name: UNIFIEDES.COM

Hosts:
DC1 - Domain Controller
Exchnage - Exchnage Server 2003
XP - Windows XP Professional
Assign 192.168.1.5 to DC (DC1 also is a DNS Server)
Assign 192.168.1.6 to Exchange

XP get automatic IP from LinkSys Router

Use ISPs DNS address in my DNS Server Forwarder Tab (DC1)

Please let me know if you need anything else,

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Saad

Saadzaman,

Go to Systems Manager and create a new connector, give it a name, then click on "forward all mail through... to this smart host", type in your isp's smtp address such as  "smtp.rcn.com", then choose your exchange server as the local bridgehead. One more thing, go to Address space tab and add the default entry.

I had a similar setup as yours and experienced the same problem, then someone suggested to use isp's smtp to send mail, and my problem was solved.

Hope this help.
