Changing port 80/activesync issue

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with activesync when I change my default web sites port from 80 to 81. Everything works fine when it's on port 80 but when I change it to port 81 in IIS and in my router I get an error message when syncing wirelessly saying "Your account is MES does not have permission to synchronize with your current settings". Am I missing a step here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
