Hello Anyone,

When I go into Manage Your Server and then click on 'More Tools', it gives me an error message.  It says that Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running.

It says to fix the problem, start the service named 'Help and Support'.

When I go into Services, there is no such service name listed.

Does anyone know what to do when this message comes up?  I would like get in there and see all the neat tools there are to better manage my Exchange Server.

Please help!

Thanks so much.  :-)

Lena

The service is HELPSVC.EXE.  I'm searching now for where this gets installed and how to reinstall.  If I find anything, I'll let you know.

To fix this issue, try this:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Navigate to %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries
3. Run “start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install”
4. Once this command completes the Help and Support service should now appear in services.msc
5. Start the Help and Support service

Hello Peter or Dean,

Would one of you know how to set the Event Viewer in Exchange so it will show which user (administrator) logs in and who does what to the server.

Right now, it only show NA and I don't know who logs in besides me on a daily basis.  Where can I go and set this up in Exchange?

ALSO....How do I check to see what rights I have as an Exchange Administrator?

Thanks so much.  :-)

I don't know off the top of my head - I'll try to find out.

First, you need to be able to view the Security tab in the System Manager (ESM).
How to enable the Security tab for the organization object in Exchange 2000 and in Exchange 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264733
Next, in the ESM open the properties of your Exchange Organization and view the Security page.  Click on Advanced, select your name or the group to which you belong in the list, and click Edit.

You can configure auditing using Secpol.msc or gpedit.msc in
Security Settings, Local Policies, Audit Policy
and enable Audit account logon audit and Audit logon events.
For account changes you need to enable Audit account management on the server and the DC(s) as well.

Sorry #2 should be:

CD %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries

Number #5 should be:

NET START helpsvc
