Ok, I'm having an issue here with Exchange 2007. I have all roles installed except for the Edge Transport server on a box with 2 dual core 3.0GHz procs with 12GB of RAM. I installed Exchange 2007 and moved all 40-50 of my users over. Our Store size is about 25GB Mail 5GB Public Folders. 2 Stores is all I have.

We started this server out with 8GB of RAM. It ate 10.5GB when it was on after a while. This made administration very difficult. The UI and remote sessions in windows 2003 were/are very very slow. We thought we would just up the RAM and that would take care of the problem. Nope. now it is eating 13.5GB of RAM and the slow administration is the same.

Is exchange 2007 trying to cache our entire store? Why on earth would it be using that much RAM? I sometimes see the store.exe at over 5GB of Mem Usage. I have not seen any information on why this usage would be normal. Also does anyone know of a way to cap exchange�s usage of physical RAM?

Any help would be appreciated. -Jim

Jim, It appears that others are having the same issue. However, no resolution has been found as of this posting.
