Howdy,

When I was looking through Event Logs last week, I ran into some checksum errors. One of the easiest ways to get rid of these (according to eventid.net) was to create a new mailbox store and move all mailboxes to it, so this is exactly what I did.

The process completed successfully although it took quite some time. So now, I have two mailbox stores; one of which I don't intend on using anymore. Still, the priv.edb file occupies a lot of space.

I have three items in the old mailbox store that could not be moved to the new one:
SMTP (SERVERNAME--{SID}) Size: 0KB
System Attendant Size: 0KB
SystemMailbox={SID} Size: 361KB, 401 Items

I am wondering how I should handle the remaining items before I delete the old store and if there is anything that requires extra attention when I actually delete the store. Is it safe to delete the old mailbox store in the first place?

Yes. There are system mailboxes that are created with the Store and cannot be moved or deleted. Your concern is to handle all the users. After that, dismount the store. If no issues turn up, you can delete the EDB and STM files (you may want to keep a backup copy just in case).

I notice that when you remove the old Store and recreat the new store .. they will be automaticlly Created
