I am not sure if anyone has tried this or not but it would be great if I could use GMail as a smarthost for my Exchange Server. I am just wanting to forward my mail to GMail over port 465 or 587, authenticate with my GMail account, and let them send my email for me. Basically, I have just moved over to Bellsouth DSL and got a rude awakening. They block 25 outgoing! Sucks, right? Well I dug around on the Internet and found a few posts telling my to use mail.bellsouth.net or the IP for that address for the smarthost. Tried that and mail started flowing again....sort of. Some emails get out and others do not. I am trying to find a more reliable source for smarthosting and gmail came to mind. Any ideas?
