The front-end server is not online right now, we will bring it up again tonight to do some more testing. I believe there is an SSL Certificate on the old Exchange server, so I will need to get the removed. I can access OWA to my mailbox, internally with no issues. I am on the new server. When trying to access from externally, the browser address is: http://webmail.domain.com/exchweb/bin/auth/owaauth.dll

Does our http://webmail.domain.com/ need to be pointed to the new front-end server? If I remove the SSL Certificate from the old Exchange server, can I put that on the new Exchange (front-end) server, or will I need to purchase a new one?? Never really worked with SSL Certificates, other than renewing them...

If you are attempting to log on right now while the server that has been designated to be the FE is not online, then definitely it will not work. Anything related to OWA must be pointing to the new FE. Internally it will work fine but from the internet, the FE must be online. With this server down, then only your users on the old exchange server will have access to their mailboxes through the original BE. You will need to export the certificate (make sure the private key is exported with it) from the BE and import it onto the new FE. You can export the cert by going using an MMC on the BE, add the certificates snap-in for the local computer and when you expand Personal --> certificates, you should see the certificate being used for OWA.

Would Active Directory need to be forced to replicate for any reason during all of this??

In this process, the only time you really need to replicate AD was after designating the new server as an FE. It changes the server object attribute in AD but thats all. Dealing with the SSL certificate doesnt require any replication in AD.
