Hi all,

a short summary of actions prior to the problem i have now:

·      all the useraccounts in our 2003 domain where deleted (human error - OU deletion :-S )
·      we did a authoritive restore of the deleted OU using subtree option
in ntdsutil
·      at that moment AD was OK. No errors on NTDS or NTFRS, eventlogs OK
·      about 4 hours after that restore, the exchange 2003 cluster stopped
responding
·      shutdown of all exchange 2003 servers (including bridgehead and SRS/
RUS server)
·      controlled startup of all the Exchange 2003 servers
·      at that moment all the mailboxes of the earlier deleted accounts
were disconnected from the useraccount and we had to reconnect them
using Exchange System Manager
·      when reconnected the SMTP address of every useraccount was
automaticcaly changed to a value which was different from the original
value. It was in the smtp address format (x
...@domain.nl) but was not
the firstname.middlename.lastn
...@domain.nl format we used to have
·      Then we did another restore of AD but now a complete authoritive of
complete Active Directory. From the root down using subtree option in
ntdsutil
·      Everything looked OK after that restore

The problem we now have (started from the time we did the last
restore) is the following:

When users who have been restored send mail to someone on the
internet, the recipient sees the smtpaddress of the sender as IMCEAEX
format.

From: "Lastname, Firstname"
<IMCEAEX-_O=domain_OU=WRQ_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=S+2EMEI
...@domain.nl>
To:
apraa...@gmail.com

Replies on this messages (with altered smtp) can be send using the
reply button and arrive in the senders mailbox (no errors).

The exchange org where i have the problem is Exchange 2003 SP2 in a
windows 2003 domain.

I have a exchange 2003 exchange server running RUS, Site replication,
and ADC to the 5.5 environment

No errors in logs on that server concerning RUS, SRS or ADC

One server in the 2003 exchange Site is a 5.5 SP4 server hosting the
X400 connections to the bridgehead in the connected 5.5 site. i have
x400 connections to a Exchange 5.5 bridgehead for relaying to the
internet. the internet mail from the 2003 environment is sent via a
5.5 SP4 bridgehead to the internet.

That 5.5 bridgehead site has x400 and Directory replication
connections to 6 other 5.5 sites. The bridgehead also has x400 and
directory replication links to the 5.5 server in my exchange 2003
site.

i am stuck complete on this one. I get no errors in eventlogs on the
exchange servers where i can troubleshoot on.

I think i have to search for the solution in de Active Directory
Connectors way but i am not sure.

Hope someone can give a reply on this with his or her view on my
problem so i can go on in finding a solution.

Thanks in advance

Michiel

hey i think msexchADCglobalname.

if you try to create new account also it will behave same thing
i will suggest you to create new account, take the ldp dump and check the msexchadcglobalname and then remove all the attributes.i.e msexchadcglobalnames should be <not set>

this should work
