We have a situation where 4 of our exchange servers are no longer available due to our WAN link to europe being canceled (part of business was sold)

I have two local exchange servers which have Public folder stores @ about 7GB however the data inside them is not accessible throught the mail client (outlook 2003)

I am thinking the PF information was being replicated from one of the mail server which are no longer available

Any ideas where to start with this guys?

Here is the message I see when I select the PF from my mail client

Unable to display the folder. This folder cannot be opened because there is a configuration problem on the server.

Yes it is partial replica it can create problem, bt you can try this step
Under routing group connector, see is there any default connections for the soruces exchange server. right clikc that connection and uncheck the defaul setting for disallow public pubic folder refferrals.

You mean completely unavailable in Outlook? Did you verify on both your servers under the mailbox store properties, default public folder that it's pointing to your local server and perhaps not their server?
