Hi,

Need help here, store.exe is stop responded after VSS backup started. Is there any reason VSS can held the store.exe from responded? How am I release store.exe from being held.

There is no error capture on exchange 2003 server. Really got no idea what make store.exe stop from responded.

Please help. Thanks.

check the exchange services....
Database is it mounted or dismounted?
check cpu utilization...
what are the steps you have taken so far after you noticed the status....
try to disable antivirus and check it out

rebooted the server then everything is back to normal. CPU utilization for store.exe at time is low, antivirus settings are ok as well. only culprit is VSS backup as the backup started then store is hang.. :(

hi,

If VSS is causing the issue, then we need to check which dll file or other attributes is effecting the VSS to hang the store. I think we might have any hotfix for that...
The best possible way is taking the adplus dump during the course of issue arising.
Reading adplus dump is taken by developer only and my best suggestion is getting the microsoft exchange team online

But before that you should
Check your store.exe is updated or not. If not then please update the latest hotfix.
Run EXBPA (www.exbpa.com)
If you want you call microsoft team to know the latest hotfix for store.exe (it should be free of cost)
If then also not able to resolve it. Then get full support from them... because they will fix for store and vss.
